TA in HK? WHAT?!!!!!!!
Feb. 14th, 2009 01:35 amOkay, let me get this straight.
Thomas Allen was in HK.
In 2006.
2 days after my 16th birthday, by coincidence.
Singing in concert at City Hall with this random orchestra (City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong)...
...and I only found out NOW?!
Thomas Allen and Hong Kong...two nouns I never imagined writing together in one sentence. O_____O
Gah...I don't believe it...but the pictures I found on the orchestra site confirm it. Ah well...at least I know that that was his first debut in HK and perhaps he'll come again. JUST MAYBE(if some orchestra here decide that it's a matter of extreme importance to invite here ASAP).

The pictures are not that big but he's obviously recognisable in both.
I'm guessing that the item round his neck in the first pic are panpipes...which means only one thing: he sang as Papageno (at least for one song, probably) from Mozart's 'Die Zauberflote' since one can always recognise the famous birdcatcher by the use of his panpipes. OMG...and Papageno is one of my fave characters in opera...*sigh*
However...if those are NOT panpipes and if they forced him to wear/do some stupid random thing of no real use/importance (which I know is the habit of people over here, look at HKU and their broadening courses, for example)...I'm going to...*rest of sentence is deleted due to excessive amounts of profanity/violence*, lol.
I'm still in shock though. @__@
Hmm...I wonder how he found the weather/people/sights/the concert hall (which looks embarrassingly bare)/the orchestra who seem to have a weird penchant for brightly coloured dresses...and most importantly, the pollution? -___-; (mostly because singers must be extremely careful of their voices!)
